The country's foremost and world-renowned tenor Arthur Espiritu will hold a one-night concert on July 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Spotlight PowerMac (Ayala Circuit Arena in Makati) to celebrate the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation's 35 anniversary and relaunch of its main program - the Young Artists Development Program (YADP).

After more than 10 busy months in Europe, Espiritu shares his artistry with Filipino music lovers and helps the MCOF in its YADP. He is the only Filipino to be awarded the prestigious George Longon Award, the first Filipino to sing at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the past 80 years, the winner of the most prestigious vocal compettion, the Belvedere Vocal Competition in Vienna, Austria, the Irene Dallis and the Regional Matropolitan Opera Council.

He has performed at Theatres des Champs-Elysee, Sydney Opera, Oper Leipzig, Opera House of Versailles, Opera Australia, Piccolo Teatro Milano and has worked with Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic, Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic, to name a few.

Upcoming performances include: Roberto, the Earl of Leicester, in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda in Munich; Rodolfo in Puccini’'s La Boheme at Theater Gartnerplatz; his debut as Faust in Gounod’s Faust at Theater St. Gallen, Romeo in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette at the Theater St. Gallen, Rossini’s William Tell in Italy and Arturo in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor in Korea.

Three of the country’s most promising young sopranos will join him on stage: Stefamie Quintin, a second prize winner of Singapore Vocal Competition (no first prize), Myramae Meneses, winner of numerous awards in Manila before leaving for further studies in London’s Guildhall School in Music and Drama, and Jasmin Salvo, this year's second prize winner of the Jovita Fuentes Piano Competition.

Program will showcase scenes from the opera that Espiritu has performed in Europe: Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette, Donizetti’s Le Elixir d'Amore including the funny drunken scene, Puccini’s La Boheme, Act 1, to name a few.
