Beethoven’s most loved concertos on March 28
Two of the most loved concertos of Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed by multi-awarded pianist Gabriel Allan Ferros Paguirigan and violin prodigy EJ Villarin on March 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Manila Pianos Inc., Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City.

An old-time favorite, the fifth concerto, also known as the Emperor, will be interpreted by Paguirigan who has done numerous concerts and. He was the first prize winner of the 2010 Piano Teachers Guild of the Philippines Beethoven Piano Concerto Competition, first prize in the 2011 National Music Competition for Young Artists, top prize winner of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra Young Pianists Competition. He has also collaborated with artists including tenor Arthur Espiritu, soprano Stefanie Quintin, flutist John Castro, to name a few. He is the music director of the vocal ensemble group PASIPO.

Villarin won the second prize in the NAMCYA when he was 10 years old. He was featured in Promil's "Gifted" TV and Print Advertisements. In 2016, he made it to the nationwide search for Young Artists Scholars at the Philippine High School for the Arts where he is enrolled. A pioneer of the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra, he is frequently the featured soloist of the group and has joined the group in their performances in Vienna, Salzburg, Prague and Munich. Last year, he represented the country as a delegate in the China-Philippines Cultural Exchange Program.

Both artists will perform with the MSJO under the baton of Jeffrey Solares.
